GULF Swimming held its 25th Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, October 2nd, at the Westchase Marriott in Houston, Texas. The annual banquet celebrates outstanding performances by athletes in the previous season and recognizes volunteers and coaches for their dedication to GULF Swimming. American record holder and World Championship silver medalist Michael McBroom shared his inspirational story and how it gave him the opportunity to live his dream as a professional athlete.
More than 500 athletes turned in outstanding performances that were recognized with a level award plaque or a qualification award this year. In addition, several awards were given out to recognize volunteers, coaches, and athletes. Congratulations to those individuals who were recognized by their peers for their outstanding 2015-2016 season.

Three Volunteers Recognized for Their LSC Contributions
GULF Swimming also recognized three outstanding individuals for their service to the LSC with a lifetime membership in USA Swimming. These individuals have been volunteers in the Gulf for more than 25 years and have contributed to the development of our LSC and the sport by serving on countless committees, chairing committees, and mentoring others throughout the LSC. Tim Bauer and Eddie Adams received their awards at the USA Swimming Convention in Atlanta, and Joe Stucka was honored at the Annual Gulf Awards Banquet with his membership.
